de la manga en amarillo, y los de la parte superior
en rojo escarlata. Todos los botones en metal dorado.
Pañuelo cuello en azul.
PANTALONES: Rojos.
KEPI: Rojo con vivos y bandas en azul oscuro. Visera
en cuero negro. Numero del regimiento en rojo.
POLAINAS: Tela blanca, abrochadas con pequeños
botones de hueso blanco. ZAPATOS: Negros.
CINTURONES Y CORREAS: Cuero negro. Pasadores y
enganches en metal amarillo.
BOLSA CARTUCHOS (TRASERA): Cuero negro.
BOLSA CARTUCHOS (FRONTAL): Lona teñida en negro.
MOCHILA: Cuero de vaca. Tienda de lona con palos
y estacas en madera. Utensilios comida en hojalata.
RIFLE: Caja en madera con herrajes en metal blanco.
Correa de cuero negro y herrajes en metal amarillo.
BAYONETA: Mango en metal amarillo. Funda en metal
blanco.

PAINTING GUIDE

GREATCOAT: Blue wool of a shade described as
“the grey of blued iron”. Blue collar with “garance”
(rich madder) red patches. Scarlet epaulettes. Rank
striper on the LOWER sleeve were yelow. Long service
chevrons on the UPPER sleeve were scarlet. All
buttons were yellow metal. Blue stock/neck scarf.
TROUSERS: “Garance” red.
KEPI: “Garance” red piped with dark blue and with a
darrk blue band. The peak was black leather. The
regimental number was “garance” red.
GAITERS: Withe cloth fastened with small white bone
buttons. SHOES: Black.
BELTS AND STRAPS: Black leather. The waist belt had
two yellow metal slides connecting to yellow metal
hooks on the front support straps of the knapsack
and a plain yellow metal plate.
CARTRIDGE POUCH (BACK): Black Leather.
CARTRIDGE POCKET (FRONT): Blackened canvas.
HAVERSACK: White cloth.
WATER CANTEEN: White metal covered in old coat cloth.
KNAPSACK: Cowhide. Rolled canvas tent with wooden
tent poles and pegs. White metal mess tin.
CHASSEPOT RIFLE: Wooden stock with white metal
fittings. Black leather strap with yellow metal fittings.
BAYONET: Yellow metal grip/handle. White metal
scabbard and hilt.
